I always consider whether or not Patreon could be worth it. I don't want to be one of those creators who has delays etc. Even now, I'm struggling a bit to keep up the captions.
Well, even if I can give $5 a month to support you with an occasional art piece every so often I'm happy to do that. I really enjoy your work, especially your art since it realizes your ideas in ways caption images never can. I imagine there are others who would too, just look at the TSF artist Hando, he hasn't been able to post much but many people still sponsor his work.
Maybe there would be no need to do anything extra and instead do a lottery request for one of the pieces that is just a cover or something, either way I'd be happy to give you something in return for all that you've done for the community over the years.
If you can do a poll on here maybe that could be a good way to gauge peoples interest?
Thanks for the insight. For the moment, I'm just glad that my stuff is out there for people to enjoy. It's a bit harder to keep track of how the online culture with stuff is changing and what's even happening on patreon these days. How much TG stuff is on there at the moment? I know some genres can be pretty oversaturated.
That's fair. In my opinion, your work definitely stands out from others—if not for the art style or the stories alone. TSF/TG is never really oversaturated, in my view, but your work exists on a different level. Most Patreons focused on this theme tend to create stories based on existing properties and rarely use original characters or settings. Those that do often fall into the same pattern of featuring young, conventionally attractive girls with large breasts. Few explore stories centered on older women, F2M, various body types, or the wide variety of themes that your work covers.
People in the space will definitely appreciate your unique take on things, especially your more recent experimental concepts like Swap UNO, Mobile Ad, Body Switchers Club, and others. Most works in the genre are done in an anime/manga style, which is another reason yours stands out. Oh, and perhaps the biggest difference is your experience with and use of classic Blogger TG concepts like the Great Shift, Swap Parties, FOSE, Swap Hotel, Exchange Island, and so on. There's a severe lack of creators utilizing these great concepts that have developed over the years, which is a real shame.
I think there's a great opportunity for you to fill a gap that has long been neglected. I've seen many people grow tired of the same old concepts, stories, and character types being recycled, especially when there are so many unexplored directions to take things.
Would love to see a series around this idea!
ReplyDeleteA series would be great!
DeleteI'd happily pay a patreon membership if you ever feel like doing one for your art
